Seafair Haven

About the Small Boat River Festival

Boats on the water for the Lawrenny Small Boat River Festival.

Seafair Haven is normally a biennial gathering of like-minded watercraft enthusiasts taking place around Lawrenny, Pembrokeshire.  It has taken place since 2006, having originally been run by the Port of Milford Haven.  It was taken on by the local Tall Ships (Wales) Trust in 2012 in order to keep the enjoyable sailing event in the calendar and to provide opportunities for local communities in Lawrenny, Pembroke Dock and surrounding areas to enjoy the wonderful waterway on the doorstep.

Traditional-style boats, vintage and contemporary, sail and oar, bilge and fin keel make their way by road or by sea to meet up for a week-long programme of sailing, entertainment and relaxation in the upper reaches of the Milford Haven waterway.

Hosted by local volunteers who are familiar with the tidal waters of the Cleddau and Cresswell rivers and estuary, Seafair welcomes repeat visitors and new friends to follow a gentle daily itinerary to destinations along the waterways with lunches and BBQs plotted in. Evening entertainment is organised including traditional music, poetry, films, dinners and a party or two.

Popular features include the Pembroke River Run into Pembroke Castle’s millpond, catching a pint or two on high water at the ever-popular traditional Cresselly Arms at Cresswell Quay, lunching at Angle Point house, convivial fleet sailing, free sailing days, beautiful campsites and welcoming lunches at waterside pubs and pontoons.
